This article looks at the new use of meta search in travel, by Google and Tripadvisor primarily. It offers small hotels a new opportunity to display their products along side the big brands and OTAs.
TripAdvisor Connect has created a lot of buzz and excitement among hoteliers with its over 200 booking engine providers signed on to become partners. That translates into hotel having their own engines or hotel friendly engines on TripAdvisor and one expects the economics of this to be far better than on main line OTAs. In addition it is better control and brand integrity as travelers will be booking directly on the hotel website.
