Tourism grew five percent in the first half of 2013 and exceeded UWTO’s expectations

Its office – Tourism has recovered on average, with 5% growth clocked in the first half of 2013. We know it is not universal and some areas are struggling with consistent declines, but on average the world is seeing more tourist and travellers are moving about again.
Emerging economies are doing exceptionally well with International travel spend up 31 percent among Chinese travelers, 22 percent among Russians, and 15 percent among Brazilian travelers: An explosive growth compared to the static figures for American, German, and UK markets and declining overseas spend from from Japanese, Italian, and Australian tourists.
