“We weren’t able to get the same traveler in shopping mode to come over to TripAdvisor in any scale that matched Google,” Kaufer said, referring to advertising on Facebook.

 

In our own experience we have seen better buy action coming from ads on Google. It appears that travel shoppers on the Search engine platforms are more like to buy.  As Kaufer says:  “We weren’t able to get the same traveler in shopping mode to come over to TripAdvisor in any scale that matched Google”.

Facebook is more of a social event, but it provides a far superior way to target a market by demographics and interests.
